Automation Technician; THAAD Product Support

Location: El Paso, TX

Position: Automation Technician (THAAD Product Support)

The THAAD Automation Technician will sustain and maintain multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems and peripheral equipment and auxiliary devices at the unit level.

• Installs, operates, and performs unit maintenance on multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems and peripheral equipment and auxiliary devices.
• Performs input/output data control and bulk data storage operations.
• Transfers data between information processing equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoots automation equipment and systems to the degree required for isolation of malfunctions to specific hardware or software.
• Restores equipment to operation by replacement of line replaceable unit; installs, operates, performs strapping, restrapping, Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services, and unit level maintenance on COMSEC devices.
• Assists in the design, preparation, editing, and testing of computer programs; configures information processing equipment into required operating configurations.
• Performs senior operator and systems administrator duties and unit level maintenance functions on assigned computer systems.
• Compiles production report data and quality control information.
• Assists less experienced soldiers in the installation, operation and maintenance of information processing equipment.
• Troubleshoots software using established debugging procedures.
• Supervises the deployment, installation, operation, and unit level maintenance of multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Supports extended hours and an extended work week as required in conjunction with system readiness, training events, and test events.
• Supports scheduled and expeditionary deployments and rotations with a minimum of 120 hours’ notice. Will deploy as Contractors Authorized to Accompany the Force IAW DoDI 3020.41 and AR 715-9. These deployments and rotations may include transportation via Military Air, Military Charter, CONUS Replacement Center, or Commercial means. Living conditions may be limited to military or commercial tents, cots or bunk beds, and potentially inconsistent power/heating/air-conditioning.
  
  Will be required to work shifts to support 24/7 operations as required by the unit’s mission. Rations will either be provided by U.S. of Host Nation personnel or employee may be otherwise compensated.

• Active Secret Clearance.
• Must demonstrate compliance with Army Regulations for Deployment to all Areas of Responsibility prior to start - to include the standards outlined in USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual Unit Deployment Policy, MOD-18.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Commercial Driver’s License.
• Valid Passport.
• Possession of/or ability to obtain and maintain either a CompTIA Security+ and A+ certification within 120 days of hire.
• Willing to travel or deploy as called to any location with little to no prior notice.

• Current Commercial Driver’s License.
• Previous deployment experience.
• Previous experience with THAAD or similar air defense system.
• PMCS experience.
• Experience driving forklift.
• Previous experience with COMSEC devices.
• Possession of a current CompTIA Security+ and A+ certification.
