Position Information

Institutional Compliance – Title IX Program

Reports to:

Title IX Coordinator

Location:

On‑Site;
El Par­‑so, Texas

Hours:

40 per week, Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm; flexibility required for evenings and weekends

FLSA status:
Exempt

Earliest start date:
As soon as possible

Salary: $55,000 annually

Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the Title IX Coordinator, the Title IX Investigator is responsible for managing the University’s sexual misconduct policies and establishing new compliance strategies as required by Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1964 (as amended in 1972) and related laws and regulations.

Statement of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist alleged victims with filing Title IX and other sex‑based discrimination complaints; guide individuals to campus and community resources.
  • Handle complex situations sensitively and impartially.
  • Track multiple cases, meet deadlines, and maintain neutrality under stress.
  • Assist the Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator with investigations.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review records for trainings, complaints, investigations, and related documentation.
  • Conduct investigations: collect evidence, send notices, interview parties and witnesses, draft reports.
  • Develop and implement case‑management plans; update the coordinator as necessary.
  • Provide appropriate communications and notifications in accordance with policy and law.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigation reports based on evidence.
  • Work with management to establish and maintain investigation procedures.
  • Evaluate and advise on risk exposure associated with complaints investigated.
  • Participate in Title IX team meetings and prepare materials for such meetings.
  • Assist in administering supportive measures.
  • Provide education and resource materials about rights and responsibilities under Title IX, state law, and institutional policy.
  • Conduct training and outreach programming related to Title IX and policy.
  • Keep up to date on policy and procedural changes affecting case management; complete related training.
  • Assist in preparing reports to comply with State and UT System requirements.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training to the essential duties, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient skill in writing concise, analytical, and cogent reports or papers.
Preferred
  • Advanced or master’s degree in a related field.
  • Clear understanding of Title IX and related compliance issues.
  • High‑level analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Understanding of Trauma‑Informed Care and application in interviewing involved parties.
