Position Summary
:
To provide quality care to patients under the direction of an RN, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Del Sol Medical Center.
Population Served
:
Core competencies assessed for patients with cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, GI conditions and diseases including CAD, PVD, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders.
Essential Functions
:
Demonstrates knowledge of dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac monitoring processes.
Participates in unit-based quality improvement processes.
Practices and demonstrates customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patient rights to privacy and confidentiality.
Organizes and communicates patient care activities to the patient and the Registered Nurse.
Monitors and documents information regarding patient activities as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
:
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
:
Certification from a State-approved Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program
Dysrhythmia recognition
