Monitor Tech

Position Summary
:
To provide quality care to patients under the direction of an RN, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Del Sol Medical Center.

Population Served
:
Core competencies assessed for patients with cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, GI conditions and diseases including CAD, PVD, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders.

Essential Functions
:

• Demonstrates knowledge of dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac monitoring processes.

• Participates in unit-based quality improvement processes.

• Practices and demonstrates customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.

• Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patient rights to privacy and confidentiality.

• Organizes and communicates patient care activities to the patient and the Registered Nurse.

• Monitors and documents information regarding patient activities as directed by the Registered Nurse.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required
:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred
:

• Certification from a State-approved Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program

• Dysrhythmia recognition
