We are seeking a compassionate, detail‑oriented Pediatric Ophthalmology Medical Scheduler to join our specialty eye care practice. This role is essential in coordinating ophthalmic appointments, supporting families, and ensuring efficient clinic flow while delivering excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm pediatric ophthalmology appointments (new patients & follow‑ups)
- Manage referrals from optometrists, pediatricians, and other specialists
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Communicate appointment instructions clearly to parents and guardians (dilation, arrival times, length of visit)
- Manage high call volumes in a fast‑paced specialty clinic
- Document scheduling notes accurately in the EHR system
- Handle cancellations, waitlists, and urgent or time‑sensitive eye conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Prior medical scheduling or ophthalmology front desk experience (preferred)
- Experience in pediatrics or specialty healthcare strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ophthalmology terminology is a plus (strabismus, amblyopia, refractions, etc.)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer skills
- Friendly and empathetic approach with children and families
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills

The pay range for this role is:
13 - 17 USD per hour (Children’s Eye Center of El Paso)
