El Paso Behavioral Health System is a private 167-bed psychiatric hospital located in El Paso, Texas, specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. ResponsibilitiesProgram Therapist Responsibilities
- Assist patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs through enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills and achieve optimal emotional health and stability.
- Provide basic consultation, teaching, individual and group therapy, family sessions, and crisis intervention services.
- Participate in providing information and initiating referral services for patients.
Education
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
- Must have a license in good standing or be within 90 days of obtaining required license.
Experience
- Minimum of one year of experience in a mental health field.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
- Experience in documenting services rendered to patients.
- Preferred psychiatric facility experience.
License
- Must possess a state license at the time of employment.
- If not licensed, must obtain it within 90 days of employment and provide proof of licensure within 90 days.
- Exception granted on individual basis and at the discretion of Director of Clinical Services.
Preferred Licensure Requirements
- Texas License in Social Work or clinical related mental health field: LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT.
Additional Requirements
- Handle with Care training completed within 30 days of employment and prior to restraining procedures.
- Competencies administered within 30 days of hire and annually via test taking, performance demonstration, or simulation.
- Work flexible hours, overtime for hourly staff, holidays, and weekends.
- TB test and CPR certification completed prior to working with patients.
- Knowledge of CMS, TJC, TAC, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
