Overview

Job Title: Medical Administration Specialist (Medical Credentialing Specialist)

Location: Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRP), William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC), 18511 Highlander Medics St, Fort Bliss, TX 79906, and outlying clinics.

1 April 2026

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday,  (SRP operational hours). Up to 48 mission-driven overage hours per FTE may be required annually beyond regularly scheduled duty hours, as authorized by the Government.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, information management, or a related medical discipline is required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience within the last two (2) years performing medical credentialing, privileging, or medical staff administration functions in a hospital, clinic, or military medical treatment facility.
    • At least 50% of the time was spent focused on verifying and maintaining the credentials of licensed, registered, and/or certified medical personnel, including but not limited to physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, physician assistants, therapists, etc.
    • Experience assembling, reviewing, and processing credentialing and privileging packets, including verification of licenses, education, training, work history, and references.
    • Experience tracking credentialing actions and timelines to ensure providers are cleared prior to performing clinical duties.
  • License / Certification:
    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
  • Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities
  • Support Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) operations by managing medical credentialing and privileging actions for healthcare providers supporting mobilization, demobilization, redeployment, and separation missions.
  • Assemble, review, and process credentialing and privileging packets for providers to ensure completeness and compliance with MTF and DHA requirements.
  • Verify provider credentials, including licenses, education, training, board status, work history, and references, using approved primary source verification methods.
  • Track credentialing and privileging actions to ensure providers are approved prior to assignment to SRP clinical duties.
  • Coordinate with providers, supervisors, and credentialing committees to resolve missing or incomplete credentialing documentation.
  • Maintain accurate credentialing records and files in Government-designated credentialing systems.
  • Monitor expiration dates for licenses, certifications, and privileges and initiate renewal actions as required.
  • Support surge onboarding activities during high-volume MOB/DEMOB cycles by prioritizing credentialing actions tied to mission requirements.
  • Document credentialing actions and status updates in accordance with MTF administrative procedures.
