Environmental Services Aide Position Summary
The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, public areas, and offices. This role supports infection control and contributes to a positive patient experience through cleanliness and organization.
Essential Functions- Clean patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls, and windows according to daily schedule.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, and shine floors; replenish paper and soap products; clean mirrors, sinks, and toilets.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor scrubbers.
- Collect and remove trash from all areas of the facility daily.
- Stock linens throughout the hospital to ensure unit readiness.
- Adhere to all infection control policies and report safety hazards to supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must maintain professionalism in interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to follow cleaning protocols.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred; cleaning or housekeeping experience strongly preferred.
Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
