The Cath Lab Tech is responsible for providing technical and patient support and patient care. Communicates continuously with the physician about patient condition. Assists physician during invasive and noninvasive procedures. Operates all equipment safely and correctly. Assesses the procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met.

Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. The technician is authorized to be present in the presence of medication.

• Formal 2‑year radiologic technology training in an AMA‑approved school which meets requirements for registry by the ARRT
• Basic EKG Course

BS in Radiology or equivalent

1 year providing Cardiac Cath, Radiology Care

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in computed tomography; OR
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
• ARRT
• State license if required
• American Heart Association BLS
• ACLS
