Top 100 Hospital s is seeking an experienced Lead Accountant who understands the unique financial landscape of healthcare and is ready to step into a role that blends technical depth, regulatory complexity, and cross‑department collaboration. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and key financial work papers that support organizational decision‑making.
  • Lead and support annual budget development with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and operational insight.
  • Coordinate cost reports, uncompensated care audits, wage index audits, and other regulatory submissions that are central to healthcare finance.
  • Ensure GL accuracy in alignment with GAAP, internal controls, procurement standards, and healthcare‑specific policies.
  • Partner with teams across finance—including statistics, government reporting, AP, payroll, and budgeting—to maintain financial integrity across the organization.
  • Support system implementations, process improvements, and special projects that strengthen financial operations.
  • Provide guidance to team members during projects and serve as a knowledgeable resource across the department.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong preference for hospital or healthcare accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, healthcare reporting requirements, and cost‑based reimbursement concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience working with financial systems and participating in system upgrades or implementations.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Clear, confident communication skills—both written and verbal.
