Top 100 Hospital s is seeking an experienced Lead Accountant who understands the unique financial landscape of healthcare and is ready to step into a role that blends technical depth, regulatory complexity, and cross‑department collaboration. If you’ve built your career in hospital or healthcare accounting and want to make a meaningful impact, this opportunity is designed for you.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and key financial work papers that support organizational decision‑making.
- Lead and support annual budget development with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and operational insight.
- Coordinate cost reports, uncompensated care audits, wage index audits, and other regulatory submissions that are central to healthcare finance.
- Ensure GL accuracy in alignment with GAAP, internal controls, procurement standards, and healthcare‑specific policies.
- Partner with teams across finance—including statistics, government reporting, AP, payroll, and budgeting—to maintain financial integrity across the organization.
- Support system implementations, process improvements, and special projects that strengthen financial operations.
- Provide guidance to team members during projects and serve as a knowledgeable resource across the department.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong preference for hospital or healthcare accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, healthcare reporting requirements, and cost‑based reimbursement concepts.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience working with financial systems and participating in system upgrades or implementations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
- Clear, confident communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Influence financial processes that directly support patient care and operational excellence.
- Work closely with leadership and cross‑functional teams.
