We are seeking highly motivated and passionate Project Engineer, Technology Systems (Construction Management) candidates to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with one to three years of experience in the construction industry.

As a Project Engineer, Technology Systems (Construction Management), you will collaborate directly with project managers and superintendents, gaining invaluable hands‑on experience in overall project oversight. Responsibilities may include assignment to specific scopes of work, subcontractor coordination, or other critical project facets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor subcontractors' performance with emphasis on quality of work and safety.
  • Develop a sense of what is/is not acceptable quality from various trades.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs; read and interpret bid documents and other information.
  • Understand the standard specification sections and identify ambiguities.
  • Solicit subcontractor bids; provide preliminary evaluations of subcontractor bids.
  • Maintain record documents; know the contract drawings and specifications.
  • Set up submittal and RFI logs; monitor submittal submission and return dates for impact to the project schedule.
  • Review shop drawings and product submittals for conformance with the contract documents and coordination with the work of other trades.
  • Administer subcontracts as assigned; understand subcontracts, particularly relating to scope, schedule, and quality standards; develop a sense of work covered by subcontracts.
  • Track change orders; prepare C/O proposals as assigned; develop a feel for the value of work.
  • Prepare correspondence as assigned; learn proper correspondence formats; develop a clear, concise writing style.
  • Assist in project close‑out as directed.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field.
  • One to three years of experience in a similar field.
  • Ability to develop relationships with owners, design team, and subcontractors.
  • Self‑motivated, problem‑solver with strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong passion for technology systems, construction management, and the industry is essential.
Location

This role will be based in El Paso, Texas. For those qualified candidates living outside of the El Paso area, relocation assistance will be considered. Candidates who are open to the possibility of travel or relocation are encouraged to apply.

Physical Side of the Role

This is an active, hands‑on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion—including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You’ll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role requires effective communication and visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work.

Desk time may also involve prolonged periods of sitting for tasks such as computer work, document review, and meetings.

Work Environment

You’ll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment.
