Role OverviewAs a Senior Structural Engineer within the Advanced Manufacturing team, you will work on a variety of project types related to data centers, including new builds, retrofits, colocations, and more. You will be responsible for performing analysis, creating computer models, preparing calculations, and coordinating designs with other Jacobs offices worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis for member and foundation design.
- Create and maintain detailed structural computer models.
- Prepare calculations, material take‑offs, schedules, and other documentation.
- Coordinate designs with other internal engineering and design departments.
- Assist with budgets and estimation through design package development.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 8 or more years of professional structural engineering experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer, with eligibility to become registered in additional states.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, S3D).
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD).
- Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and related design codes.
- Strong understanding of Building Codes.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams for remote coordination.
- Ability to travel to client sites (10–20% travel expected).
- Master of Science in Engineering.
- Experience with industrial metals projects (casting/rolling operations or similar).
- Proven ability to lead teams to deliver on schedule and budget while maintaining quality and client expectations.
