The Department of Mathematical Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking applied mathematician with expertise in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Successful candidates are expected to develop productive research programs, mentor and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to direct Ph.D. dissertations in data science/computational science.
Candidates with experience in industry and/or applied interdisciplinary research projects are encouraged to apply. Anticipated start date is fall 2026.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in statistical/mathematical data science or a related field, a strong record of research accomplishments, and the capacity to secure extramural funding. Preference will be given to those with postdoctoral experience.
