Job DescriptionUTEP invites applications for an Assistant Research Faculty position in AAII with a primary focus on AI in Education and Workforce Development. The successful candidate will:
- Conduct research on AI-enabled learning technologies, adaptive systems, and workforce readiness tools.
- Develop and evaluate AI literacy modules for K-12, undergraduate, graduate, and professional education.
- Lead projects that integrate AI into curriculum design and workforce training programs.
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines and external partners to secure funding and implement scalable solutions.
- Mentor students and contribute to AAII s mission of ethical and responsible AI innovation.
- Contribute to the advancement of AAII s leadership in AI through publication of scholarly work at reputable venues.
- Doctorate in Education, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Learning Sciences, or a closely related field by the time of hire.
- Demonstrated expertise in applications for education or workforce development.
- Evidence of research productivity and potential for external funding.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
The initial salary is competitive, based on qualifications and experience, and comes with excellent fringe benefits. Hiring decisions are based on budget approval.
