What is a Community School? – A partnership school bringing together community resources to support student success and family strength. The Community Schools program of the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) supports academic services while integrating healthcare, social services, doonaa youth programs and community development to enhance neighborhood sustainability. Ameri Corps VISTA members help develop Community Schools at close to 30 EPISD campuses.

• Support recruitment and selection of high‑quality VISTAs to ensure project success.
• Develop and deliver orientation and training to equip VISTAs with project knowledge and skills.
• Facilitate the VISTA team, support team members in their work, and monitor member weekly reports.
• Assist in collecting and compiling project data.
