This person will be responsible for the provision of primary and preventive health service that are of high quality and within acceptable standards of practice to patients of Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe, Inc.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Responsible for providing healthcare services within the scope of his/her specialty.
  • Assists the Chief Medical Officer in meeting PHS Regional Office requirements dealing with medical practice matters.
  • Assists the Chief Medical Officer in Quality Improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practice of medicine and allied health services.
  • Special knowledge in the area of preventive medicine.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with patients.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in unusual or stressful situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Ability to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent or geriatric patients.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Required Education
  • Graduate of an Approved and Accredited Medical School (M.D. or D.O.).
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Primary Care Specialty (Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, etc.).
  • Current, unrestricted License to Practice Medicine in the State of Texas.
  • Current Drug enforcement Agency Registration.
  • Current Texas Department of Public Safety Registration.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years training in an Accredited Residency Program of a Primary Care specialty (Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, etc..)
  • Minimum 1 year Internship plus two years experience in a primary care setting.
