Capital Projects Inspector – El Paso Water
Responsibilities:
Provide technical inspection support for all City of El Paso capital projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, codes, ordinances, and laws.
- Conduct on‑site inspections of construction projects: buildings, parks, facilities, street and drainage improvements, maintaining detailed oral and written reports.
- Research technical questions and coordinate additional expert assistance when required.
- Supervise and manage assigned personnel: schedule, instruct, monitor work, enforce safety and conduct standards.
- Prepare and present technical reports and oral presentations to management and elected officials.
- Assist in the efficient use of taxpayer investments in municipal facilities.
- High School diploma or GED, or higher.
- Two years of journey, master, or supervisory level building trades experience.
- Valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
- Knowledge of construction codes, specifications, contract requirements, and ordinances.
Position may require supplemental exam questions; successful applicants will need to complete the examination component.
