Operations Intern

jas is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

this is a 10-week project-based internship, where you’ll gain hands-on experience, work cross-functionally within local departments, branches, and other jas offices around the globe. As an operations intern you will assimilate how international shipments and supporting data are planned, executed, managed, and monitored on various management levels.

this opportunity offers regular engagement with a wide array of stakeholders, to help foster a deep understanding of global logistics operations. Providing exposure and job shadowing in various jas departments including, but not limited to: air/ocean freight, import/exports, customs brokerage, warehousing, and sales. Providing a holistic understanding of the logistics industry while gaining valuable insights into the decision-making processes and strategic approaches of a global supply chain leader.

this project focuses on identifying and implementing improvements across warehouse operations to increase efficiency, reduce manual work, and streamline billing activities. The intern will assess current workflows with a fresh‑eyes approach, concentrating on areas such as cross‑dock billing, trailer loading efficiency, and the overall receiving and shipping process. They will analyze the factors that slow down loading and billing, evaluate operational tasks for bottlenecks, and recommend simplified, standardized procedures that improve accuracy and reduce redundancy.

The role will also involve observing daily warehouse functions to gather insights and develop practical solutions that support consistent, scalable performance. The goal is to modernize warehouse processes in a way that enhances overall productivity, reduces operational costs, and strengthens long‑term process reliability.
