A Brief OverviewThe Accounting Intern will gain exposure to various areas of accounting and reporting, working with different team members and technology tools. The role supports the team’s goal of timeliness and accuracy through tasks such as processing and recording fixed assets, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, reconciling bank activity, and preparing quarterly financial reports internally and externally. The intern will also participate in ad‑hoc projects.
Whatyou will do
- Enter data for fixed assets.
- Reconcile bank transactions.
- Obtain documentation from business units to prepare and enter journal entries.
- Run required reports for internal and external use.
- Assist with monthly accounting close checklists for various departments.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of certain general ledger accounts.
- Assist with creating assigned accrual entries.
- Gain working understanding of relevant agreements and summarize them.
- Accounting major required from an accredited university.
- Major GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn in an environment with complex transactions, with willingness to ask questions and request support when needed.
Competitive and equitable compensation. This position may be eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries are determined by factors such as location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience, with pay equity considerations.
