Water Operator II or III

Job Overview

Operator II, Water – El Mirage, Arizona – Closing February 3, 2026

• Operate and maintain water plant systems, support startup of new facilities.
• Monitor plant operations, troubleshoot equipment, optimize production and treatment processes.
• Review lab analyses and SCADA data to guide process control and ensure compliant performance.
• Handle treatment chemicals safely and perform sampling and lab testing to meet regulatory standards.
• Complete project assignments, maintain records, and coordinate with contractors.

• At least 2 years of experience operating water facilities; preferred 3 years for Operator III.
• Basic knowledge of water treatment processes (coagulation, filtration, adsorption).
• Competent understanding of plant chemical sampling (pH, chlorine residual, nitrates, color).
• Ability to use computer tools to analyze and report plant data.
• Good knowledge of safety practices in water facilities (electrical, mechanical, confined space).
• High School diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work outdoors in extreme weather.
