Track Laborer

• Driving spikes
• Moving and setting cross ties and lengths of steel rail
• Shoveling stone
• Adjusting switches
• Lubricating switches
• Tightening track bolts
• Checking track gauge
• Checking cross level
• Carrying track jack (approx. 40 lbs.)
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Other duties as assigned

Must regularly talk and hear; lift and/or move heavy weights; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Exposed to outside weather conditions; may work nights, holidays, weekends. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise level usually moderate.
