JOB DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Monitor plant equipment: boilers, air handling units, air conditioning system, medical gases, etc. Performs general repair and updating of hospital buildings.
2. Performs the duties of hospital Security, making routine rounds of the grounds and buildings.
3. Pick-up and empty trash containers at various locations as per schedule, or as needed.
4. Documents all repairs and inspections performed on equipment and hospital buildings.
5. Performs preventive maintenance duties and maintains all equipment and buildings under the responsibility of Environmental Services.
6. Responds to maintenance requests and pages from all departments.
7. Works as relief as scheduled to house maintenance and security personnel.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of heating and air conditioning, plumbing, basic electricity, carpentry, read blueprints and a strong mechanical ability.

Education:

High School Graduate with some college or technical school training.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in plumbing, heating, and air conditioning or construction. (May be a combination).

Certification/Licensure:

None.

Code Blue Training:

Ability to activate Code Blue system by dialing 200.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

May require frequent standing and walking. Requires occasional sitting. Occasionally lifts up to 60 lbs. May occasionally be required to carry up to 60 lbs. May require occasional pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movement, such as changing AC filters, preventive maintenance on equipment, tightening nuts and bolts on various pieces of equipment throughout the hospital.

May frequently be required to work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and outdoor work. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Some exposure to communicably diseases and hazardous materials is required. Requires correct vision to normal range and correct hearing.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work may be scheduled on any shift. Will also work schedule weekends and some holidays on a regular basis.
