Overview
Clean Harbors in El Dorado, AR is looking for a Container Mechanic/Welder. The role involves sanding, prep work, inspecting, fabricating, cutting, welding, patching tarps or replacing tarps on containers at Clean Harbors locations and customer sites such as refineries. The position requires logging time and materials into an electronic repair order system. Welding equipment and service truck are provided. A valid driver’s license is required.

Key Responsibilities- Maintain health and safety as the number one priority by adhering to safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Perform compliance and safety inspections; correct equipment deficiencies and conduct preventative maintenance on company-owned equipment.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, mechanical repair, and other metalworking tasks in line with container repair trades.
- Maintain shop housekeeping, welding systems, repair equipment, and tools.
- Prepare surfaces prior to painting; apply coatings using HVLP, airless, or manual tools.
- Fabricate, cut, and weld on roll-off containers.
- Produce quality work in line with defined standards.
- Log all time and materials entries into the electronic repair order system.
- Keep company trucks clean, tidy, and free of hazards at all times.
- Perform other welding duties and tasks as assigned by management as needed.
- Welding (MIG & Stick) and mechanical experience in a fabrication/repair shop environment.
- Experience performing flat welds with steel is preferred.
- Successful completion of a Structural Welding test.
- Welding certification is considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to wear a respirator; must be clean shaven.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean 3-year driving record are required.
