Job Summary:
The Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) serves as the Adult Education Health Program Coordinator and Instructor. This position provides oversight of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy, and Medication Assistant-Certified (MA-C) programs and serves as the lead instructor for the MA-C program. The RN ensures that instruction and clinical components meet regulatory and programmatic standards, and that student success and safety remain top priorities.
This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
Compensation: $30 per hour. The hours for this position vary and may include nights.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Provides oversight and coordination of adjunct instructors in the CNA and Phlebotomy programs
• Coordinates with Adult Education and external clinical partners to ensure program alignment and quality
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach all components of the MA-C program in accordance with Arkansas state guidelines
• Oversee CNA and Phlebotomy program instruction, including curriculum alignment, clinical requirements, and instructor coordination
• Maintain required documentation and student records for compliance and reporting purposes
• Assist in recruiting, advising, and mentoring students within the healthcare pathway
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in all instructional and clinical settings
• Serve as liaison between South Ark Adult Education, South Ark's Director of Nursing, and clinical partners.
• Participate in program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities
• Attend required trainings and maintain licensure and certifications
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong clinical background and teaching ability in healthcare education
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Arkansas Department of Human Services guidelines for CNA and MA-C programs
• Proficiency in classroom and lab instruction, including technology-supported delivery methods
• Commitment to student-centered instruction and equity in adult education
Required
Education and Experience:
• Current, unencumbered Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of two years of experience in long-term care or related healthcare setting
• Experience in healthcare instruction or staff training
Preferred
Education and Experience:
• Teaching experience in adult education or career training programs
• Familiarity with Arkansas Adult Education programs and career pathway development
• Certification as an MA-C Instructor (or ability to obtain certification prior to instruction)
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand, walk, and demonstrate physical skills in clinical settings for extended periods
• Ability to lift and move instructional equipment and assistive devices up to 25 pounds
• Some travel required within Union County to oversee clinicals
