Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Overview

Full-Time, Direct-Hire, Onsite $47–$60/hour (based on exp)

El Centro, CA:
Night Shift 4x10 8pm–6:30am (+ Differential)

Performs specialized clinical laboratory testing in all clinical laboratory disciplines. Performs and reports results, proof tests, and assumes responsibility for accuracy.

• Utilizes laboratory computer systems to document all actions taken concerning patient and quality control testing.
• Performs laboratory testing following laboratory policies and procedures.
• Performs and documents instrument calibrations following manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance following laboratory policies and procedures and manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Performs quality control testing as required in laboratory policies and procedures. All remedial actions taken for out-of-control results will be documented.
• Performs STAT testing promptly and can organize testing priorities during heavy workload situations to expedite patient testing results.
• Relays Panic Values to the ordering service and documents all actions taken.
• Follows laboratory safety policies and procedures, including Standard Precautions.

• 2-3 years of experience in a core lab setting (including microbiology and blood bank)
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to follow instructions.

• Four-year college degree
• Valid Clinical Laboratory License issued by the State of California Department of Health Services is required.
