Job Overview
Under the direction of the Public Defender, assist in the supervision and training of Deputy Public Defenders; defend the most complex and significant felony cases; perform exceptionally difficult and complex legal work in the Public Defender’s office; and perform other work as required.
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of law and four (4) years of government agency/equivalent experience and one (1) year experience at the level of Deputy Public Defender IV.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- License by the State Bar to practice law in the State of California.
- May require pre‑employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
