Overview

Sr. Safety and Training Supervisor. Transdev in San Diego – El Cajon is hiring a Sr. Safety and Training Supervisor. The Sr. Safety and Training Supervisor, under the direction of the Safety & Training Director, is responsible for the proper training of designated employees according to county and company policies and programs. This position is based in El Cajon, CA in support of the MTS Contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts and coordinates all driver training activities including initial training and retraining; utilizes and supervises Driver trainers and the Driver training program.
  • Assist with classroom training and behind-the-wheel training in the absence of designated trainers.
  • Assist the Director of Safety and Training Manager in reporting incidents and subrogating collisions.
  • Coordinate all safety education programs for the property.
  • Respond to and investigate accidents/incidents, including taking photos of accident/incident scenes, interviewing parties involved, and assisting with police reports.
  • Coordinate Safety Meetings and oversee the Drive Program.
  • Coordinate Safety campaigns.
  • Participate in the Location Safety Committee.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with the substance abuse testing program using Federal and Company standards.
  • Maintain personnel and qualification files pertaining to new hire, training, safety and loss matters.
  • Coordinate employee return to work with Human Resources.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with annual pull notices, DOT physicals, 4-year backgrounds, annual driving records, driver’s license, VTT training, s for employees and dependents, Workers’ Compensation administration, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOT Physical examination
Experience
  • Two to five years of supervisory experience
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one year of fixed-route transit service in the transportation industry, preferably with training experience
  • Driver training experience preferred

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to operate the company vehicle without DOT-prohibited adaptations
