Duties & Responsibilities
SUMMARY
Develop, plan and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods. Coordinate with Sales, Contract Administration, and Purchasing to plan and adjust production needs. Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing capabilities. Monitor and adjust schedule to meet unforeseen conditions, such as pull-ins, pushouts, material shortages or scrap. Communicate and coordinate with the Production Supervisors, Leads, Production Control and Expeditors.
Act as liaison with departments to assist in providing an uninterrupted flow of required manufactured parts. Act as liaison between customers and production. Review customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements. Provide technical support to operations, customers, suppliers, and program managers as needed. Support and lead special process and customer audits.
This position requires a broad background in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to follow and audit the physical progress of parts or goods through manufacturing or other processing departments to ensure conformance to schedule when needed. Provide training and coaching to others as required. Performing other duties as assigned by management that fall within the scope and level of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Customer liaison, interface with customers on schedule changes and problems.
- The employee should exercise good judgement on addressing and resolving various customer issues.
- The employee should have the ability to address disputes or verification of shipments to customers.
- Investigate production delays to enhance better systems and processes.
- Follow and audit the physical progress of parts through manufacturing or other outside processing departments.
- Production order Release.
- Production Order Maintenance.
- Tracker/Milestone Creation and Maintenance.
- Review and respond to MRP Messages.
- Reports major problems to supervisor for corrective action, and assists, when possible, in initiating measures to eliminate shortages.
- Responsible for distributing production scheduling reports.
- Familiar with all areas of the shop and offices.
- Sets up conference rooms and assists involved customers/personnel.
- Reviews Production schedules and plant capacity data to determine processes, tools and machines to be used.
- Provides data on monthly sales and yearly sales commitments.
- Monitor and control all material movements to maintain the integrity of production schedules.
- Reviews production specifications and plant capacity data.
- Keeps management informed of critical status.
- Contributes to produce and ship monthly sales.
- Filing as required.
- Performs all other duties assigned or directed.
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the El Cajon, CA location.
QualificationsEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3+ years in a production planning capacity with manufacturing and production control experience.
- Strong understanding of MRP.
- Intermediate Excel skills;
Advanced skills a plus. - Familiarity with scheduling tools.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Scheduling and managing outside process suppliers.
- Broad background in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of fabricated metal parts and supplies a plus.
- Knowledge of blueprints desired.
- Able to operate machines to complete tasks:
Personal computer, printer, plotter, etc. - Required:
High School Degree with related experience and/or training. - Preferred: BS or BA degree from 4-year college or university.
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $81,000 - $90,000.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
