Mechanical Construction Project Manager

University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for our San Diego, CA location. UMEC offers industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations.

This position will lead mechanical construction projects safely on time and within budget for various markets including Healthcare, Life Science, Commercial, Industrial and a wide range of other markets.

Compensation Range: $100K - 150K

• The Project Manager is responsible for safety of UMEC field personnel assigned to the projects, field labor productivity, quality assurance and coordination, project financial outcome, projections and reporting, material and equipment procurement, change order management, owner/client relations, project cash flow, and personnel management.
• Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs. Other duties may be assigned. Managers are responsible for directing and overseeing the work activities of their direct reports and to be available during the hours that any direct reports are working.

• 5-7 years construction work-related experience and/or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Must prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
• Must have demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions.
• Must work with minimal supervision.
• Must effectively manage time and details.
• Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must have organizational skills in handling and archiving technical data.
• Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs.

Computer Skills — Proficiency with software including Microsoft Excel, Projects, Word/PowerPoint, Access;
Bluebeam Revu PDF editing;
Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting Software);
Quotesoft Estimating Software.
