Role Description

This is a full-time position for a Micro Trenching Specialist, based on-site in El Cajon, CA. The role involves performing micro trenching operations for cable and fiber optic installations, including the use of specialized equipment for cutting and trenching roads or sidewalks. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, maintaining safety protocols, adhering to project schedules, coordinating with team members to ensure quality, and troubleshooting any issues.

The specialist will also communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders and maintain accurate project documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in micro trenching operations, equipment handling, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards, traffic control procedures, and equipment operation
  • Ability to read and understand project plans, verify measurements, and perform site inspections
  • Team collaboration and communication skills to coordinate effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to on-site challenges
  • Familiarity with OSP/ISP construction practices and best practices
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in construction or equipment operation are a plus
  • Physical ability to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions
