Per Diem School Paraprofessional Positions – El Cajon, CA
Instructional aides are needed to support students on a 1:1 basis in public school settings. These per diem roles offer flexible work schedules, allowing you to accept assignments based on school coverage needs. These positions are ideal for compassionate professionals committed to helping students thrive academically, behaviorally, and socially.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized or small-group academic and behavioral support under teacher direction
- Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and active classroom participation
- Implement behavior support plans and adhere to IEP requirements as applicable
- Support mobility, supervision, and personal care needs to ensure student safety and inclusion
- Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment for all students
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Current TB test (per district requirements)
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
- Clearance requirements must be met or process initiated before starting assignment
- Background in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or training in CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a team-oriented approach
- Flexible assignments to fit your schedule with the ability to select preferred jobs
