Bachelor Graduation : DAF internal debit card process

Analyzing and improving the process related to the use and control of the internal debit card payments.

The Control Manufacturing Operations department within the Finance organization of DAF Trucks N.V. is responsible for all financial aspects related to the Manufacturing Operations of DAF Trucks. The department delivers objective financial expertise and provides clear, proactive, timely, and relevant business and financial information to its stakeholders. By doing so, it anticipates potential risks and opportunities, supporting informed decision-making and contributing to the overall operational and financial performance of the organization.

DAF uses an internal debit card to facilitate payments of goods bought from vending machines which are operated by a third party.

• Process Analysis:
  Describe and understand the current process of using the internal debit card at the vending machines. Identify all involved parties and control points within the process.
• Risk Analysis:
  Identify potential financial and operational risks, such as misuse of the debit card, incorrect payments, or incomplete recording of expenses.
• Control Measures:
  Evaluate existing control measures and propose improvements that can enhance the management of the payment process.
• Data Analysis:
  Perform an analysis of transaction data to detect irregularities or deviations.
• Reporting and Recommendations:
  Prepare a report with your findings, conclusions, and concrete recommendations for improving the process and internal controls.
