Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will be a key member of the Research IT System Administration Team of the Centre for Particle Physics & Astronomy, providing support for Linux platforms and services.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the HTCondor Linux cluster, ensuring availability, security and stability through monitoring, maintenance and automation.
- Participating in incident management and contributing to constructive improvement of services.
- Representing the Centre in GridPP collaboration, ensuring services meet GridPP requirements.
- Collaborating with the broader IT community to support large‑scale Linux computing infrastructure.
The successful applicant will have:
- A degree level qualification in a Science/Engineering subject or relevant equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of IT service delivery in support of large‑scale Linux‑based computing infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Proactive initiative and readiness to work independently.
