POSITION SUMMARY:

The Emergency Medical Services Logistics Technician assists the EMS logistics coordinator with equipment and medication supply chain for all EMS vehicles and locations, the planning and scheduling of vehicle maintenance for all ARMC vehicles, planning and support for both planned and non-planned EMS events, and duties as a member of the ARMC fleet team. Responsible for winter/summer prep on EMS locations and system vehicles as required and emergency response with NJ EMS taskforce assets.

The EMS Logistics Technician stocks all EMS locations to support daily operations, special event operations and large-scale events. Works with the EMS Logistics Coordinator to ensure equipment and medications are readily available, including alternative products when necessary and obtaining quotes when required. Assists with ensuring all vehicles receive preventive maintenance when required and that repairs are scheduled and performed in a timely manner.

Maintains a professional demeanor and effective working relationships. Provides clear and properly executed documentation of all daily activities. Supports organizational goals by delivering quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the EMS logistics coordinator with equipment and medication supply chain for all EMS vehicles and locations.
  • Plan and schedule vehicle maintenance for all ARMC vehicles.
  • Plan and support for both planned and non-planned EMS events.
  • Be a member of the ARMC fleet team; perform winter/summer prep on EMS locations and system vehicles as required.
  • Respond to emergencies with NJ EMS taskforce assets as needed.
  • Stock EMS locations to support daily operations, special event operations and large-scale events.
  • Ensure equipment and medications are readily available, including alternative products when necessary; obtain quotes when required.
  • Assist in ensuring all vehicles receive preventive maintenance and that repairs are scheduled and performed timely.
  • Maintain professional behavior and effective working relationships; provide clear documentation of daily activities.
  • Support organizational goals through quality customer service and participation in performance improvement efforts.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • License/Certification: Current BLS (professional rescuer or health care provider level) required; NJ EMT or NJ MICP preferred. Proof of valid New Jersey Driver's License required; CDL preferred.
  • Experience: Proficiency in automotive maintenance, basic building repair; and computer operation required.
Performance Expectations

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

Work Environment
  • Potential exposure to hazards and risk of the hospital, commercial, and maintenance environment, including exposure to infectious disease and hazardous substances.
  • Exposure to various climate extremes and weather conditions; may be exposed to disagreeable odors.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment or containers up to 70 lbs and assist with lifting patients up to 350 lbs with assistance.
  • May be required to work from substantial heights; must maintain physical fitness to move rapidly when required.
