Description

The Advanced Practice Nurse provides high quality, cost-effective patient care that supports established specialty practice objectives and strategic organizational goals. The Advanced Practice Nurse establishes preventive measures, diagnoses and treats illnesses and disorders in a competent manner that is consistent with medical practice and joint protocols as established with the collaborating physician. This position ensures that patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner, managing and utilizing resources optimally.

By demonstrating compassion and respect for the individual, the Advanced Practice Nurse provides care that meets the customer s expectations. The Advanced Practice Nurse works collaboratively with physician leaders, administration and staff to improve clinical outcomes. This position participates in quality improvement efforts organization-wide and plays an active role as a member of the appropriate divisional and departmental committees. The Advanced Practice Nurse maintains current technical knowledge and seeks educational and professional opportunities to enhance clinical practice and competency.

The Advanced Practice Nurse contributes towards the organization s educational programs and teaching activities. This position participates in the peer review process to enhance clinical practice, demonstrating sound judgment and respect for colleagues.

• Provide high quality, cost-effective patient care aligned with specialty practice objectives and organizational goals.
• Collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses and disorders; implement preventive measures and manage resources efficiently.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in committees as required.
• Contribute to educational programs and peer review processes; maintain current clinical knowledge and pursue ongoing professional development.

• Education:
  
  Master s degree in nursing from an accredited school or as grandfathered by NJ Law.
• License/Certification:
  Current RN licensure in New Jersey; board certification in area of specialty with granted privileges from the ARMC medical staff; NRNNP, C or RNCNS, C registry unencumbered; ACLS required in Urgent Care, Atlanti Care Physician Group and Heart Failure Program; BLS required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty field as an RN in New Jersey; proficiency in clinical applications preferred; training provided if needed with competency within 30–60 days.

• Potential exposure to hospital hazards and infectious diseases; standard health and safety precautions apply.
• Physical demands include stooping, kneeling, lifting 25–30 lbs, standing and walking.
• Department-specific essential functions as listed in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

The Advanced Practice Nurse collaborates with the physician and reports to the appropriate Administrator and Nursing/Department Leadership.
