Registered Nurse - Cardiac Operating Room

The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary surgical plan of care and provides for its consistency with the surgical treatment plan.

EDUCATION/LICENSE: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license required. BLS required. Valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.

EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

• Emergency Room: 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 2 years emergency room experience preferred.
• Operating Room:
  Minimum 1 year medical/surgical experience desired; 1-2 years operating room experience preferred.
• Cardiac Operating Room:
  Minimum of 1 year surgical experience; 6 months of cardiac operating room preferred
• Critical Care (ICU): 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years critical care experience preferred.
• Medical/Surgical: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Dialysis: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years dialysis experience preferred.
• Psychiatry: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years psychiatry experience preferred.
• Pediatrics: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years pediatric experience strongly preferred.
• Radiology: 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 interventional experience preferred.
• Cath Lab: 1-2 years critical care, emergency room or telemetry experience preferred; 1 year cath-lab experience preferred.
• Trauma ICU: 1 year trauma experience required 2 years preferred.
• Oncology: 1 --2 years medical/surgical experience preferred. Chemotherapy experience preferred.
• Endoscopy:
  Minimum 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 yrs. endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred.
• Cardiac Diagnostic: 1 --2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1-2 years critical care experience preferred.
• Cardiovascular ICU(CVU): 2-4 years critical care experience preferred.
• Progressive Cardiac Care unit (PCCU): 2-5 years telemetry experience preferred.
• Progressive Care unit (PCU): 2-5 years telemetry experience preferred.
• Telemetry: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Radiation Oncology: 1--3 years oncology experience preferred.
• Medical Oncology Infusion Services: 1-3 years oncology experience preferred.
• PACU/SDS: 1-3 years critical care or PACU experience required.
• Pre-Admission Testing (PAT): 1-3 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Acute Partial/Child Adolescent Program: 1 yr experience in behavioral health setting.
• Bloodless Surgery: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred
• Wound Care Out Patient: 1-2 years medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Hammonton Satellite Emergency Department: 2-4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 2 years emergency room experience preferred
• Structural Heart: 2-3 year experience in cardiology
