Leidos is seeking a talented Systems Engineer (Level
3) to join our team in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, or Gaithersburg, MD, dedicated to engineering the next generation of ATC expansion software. In this role, you will be directly involved in the development of high‑reliability, performance‑ systems that utilize machine learning models to enhance operational decision‑making. This includes creating solutions for advanced trajectory prediction, optimized traffic flow management, conflict detection, and controller workload balancing.
You will be instrumental in designing and implementing these mission‑critical systems, ensuring the seamless and safe integration of new, intelligent capabilities into the live operational environment. - Design and develop architectural and systems solutions white papers
- Coordinate process and baseline updates to requirements and architectural diagrams
- Track and report execution status, generating detailed reports and artifact packages for stakeholders and clients.
- Manage and track schedules, risks, opportunities, defects, change requests, and action items.
- Facilitate planning meetings, peer reviews, and customer‑facing sessions to align on objectives and schedules.
- Collaborate with developers, integrators, and schedulers to ensure schedules are in alignment with project timelines.
- Mentor and train team members on tools, processes, and applications.
- Support the development and updating of systems engineering documentation, such as requirements verification matrices and architectural design documents.
- Due to US Government contract, must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages, development methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems and command line tools.
- Ability to plan and prioritize personal tasking and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Independent thinker capable of high‑quality work both individually and within a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in C++ (Qt knowledge desirable) and Java (Spring Boot knowledge desirable).
