Description
Leidos is seeking a Systems Integration & Test Engineer for the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. TFDM is a surface management solution that will improve aircraft runway and terminal congestion and provide Next Gen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).
LocationCandidate can be based out of Gaithersburg, MD or Egg Harbor, NJ.
Program OverviewTFDM is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Next Gen program that provides efficiencies for both the airport surface and terminal airspace by integrating a comprehensive surface traffic control and management system.
Responsibilities- Perform testing in Physical and Virtual test labs to ensure the system, test procedure, and test inputs are prepared to execute with the customer present.
- Execute procedures that verify the system is properly configured and operating in the NAS.
- Coordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnel.
- Debug system level issues and provide detailed supporting data on identified issues.
- Understand System Level Requirements and perform system interface checkouts.
- Work with team lead to provide guidance to fellow test team members and ensure team goals are appropriately set to meet all program milestones.
- Execute commands for remote support staff (ILE/Networking) and provide feedback to solve problems remotely.
- Analyze identified issues in conjunction with System Engineering and Software to develop solutions.
- Learn system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the integration and test of the new capabilities and enhancements.
- Collaborate with the TFDM system engineering team to develop test approaches for new and modified requirements.
- Ability to conduct Testing at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in operational site conditions with the FAA customer when required.
- Perform formal test execution with the customer and quality assurance organizations.
- Demonstrate test execution to the FAA on a run for record to achieve customer acceptance of the content per release.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Be able to support travel (20% of time).
- 8+ years of professional experience, or 6+ years with a related Master’s degree in a related discipline; bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
- Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems, troubleshooting connection/network configuration skills.
- Experience following a documented Integration and Test Development Process.
- Strong integration skills with hands‑on experience integrating large software complex systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal and external customers.
- Willing to collaborate with FAA customer on sites to build system knowledge.
Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
