Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare financial and key statistical reports and provide analysis on the same in support of strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy for financials with detail review and account reconciliations.
- Report financial and provide variance analysis to prior year and budgets to the management committee.
- Monitor and provide insight to attorney and client profitability.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year end-close, cash management, and accounts payable.
- Supervise staff responsible for accounts payable overseeing activities to ensure policy and tax compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with IOLTA regulations and maintain required controls.
- Manage banking and core financial system vendor relationships
- Oversee the preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings with firm external accountants, providing financials and requested schedules. Remain current on applicable tax laws. Manage preparation and issuance of 1099 forms.
- Comply with state registration and reporting requirements
- Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections to support organizational goals and partner decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of accounting experience (professional services preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and attention to detail
