EVENTS/FACILITIES GRADUATE ASSISTANT (1 position) JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the immediate supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Events and Facilities, the graduate assistant is primarily responsible in assisting all areas of operation for the Athletics' Event Management and Facilities. The individual will assist the Events and Facilities staff members and other staff members in Intercollegiate Athletics with planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and services and other duties as assigned.
The graduate assistant will work closely with coaches and the marketing department on daily operations and events within athletics. The GA will also work with other campus departments such as Facilities Management, Campus Recreation, Police and Parking Services. Additional duties consistent with the Department’s goals and mission will also be assigned.
The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in supervision, public presentations, and communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events and comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS GRADUATE ASSISTANT (1 position)JOB DESCRIPTION
The graduate assistant is primarily responsible for assisting in the media, promotional, and statistical coverage of 16 intercollegiate sports graduate assistant will be the primary media contact for selected sports and assist in all others. Duties include writing news releases, designing, editing and maintaining SIUE's official website (), and preparing game-day notes, programs as well as other athletics communication materials. The graduate assistant also is active in keeping statistics for selected sports, event management, and other duties as assigned.
The graduate assistant works closely with the coaches of both the men's and women's athletic programs. The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in human relations, supervision skills, public presentations, and communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events and comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED for all GA positions:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Acceptance into SIUE Graduate School; must maintain a 6-9 hour course load per semester
- Evidence of sound organizational skills
- Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public
- Strong communication and computer skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS for EVENTS/FACILITIES GA:
- Previous intercollegiate athletics facilities and/or events experience
- Excel and database management experience
