Arrow Transportation Systems Inc. is inviting applications for the Class 1 Truck Driver – Flat Deck position in Edmonton, AB. Arrow has been a leader in transportation since 1919 and continues to grow regionally within Western Canada.

• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation and safe practices
• Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment
• Comply with legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
• Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer into loading or unloading positions
• May operate loading equipment as required
• Check mobile equipment to ensure mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to supervisor
• Record, maintain and check all relevant paperwork
• Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones
• Complete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status
• Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co‑workers
• Assist in loading and unloading of trucks, perform periodic inspections, ensure material is protected from the elements, clean debris, provide feedback to supervisor/dispatch
• Train others when required

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Ability to read, write and speak in English
• Class 1 driver’s license and MELT
• Super B and mountain driving experience required
• Experience driving in snow and chaining tires when necessary; ability to drive in other adverse weather conditions
• Clean driver abstract or record
• Air brake endorsement
• Ability to move 100 pounds, lift 50 lbs overhead and lift to shoulder height 75 lbs
• Ability to sit long durations
• Pass pre‑employment drug test
• Strong safety mindset and quality oriented; ethics and integrity
• Responsible, accountable and dependable; strong communication skills
• Positive team attitude; highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills
• Computer literate; basic understanding of vehicle and trailer maintenance requirements; organizational abilities; professional demeanor under stressful situations; self‑directed work with little supervision
