Job Summary:
We are currently hiring experienced Ironworkers with a focus on rebar to support a range of commercial and residential construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for placing and securing steel reinforcement for concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, and slabs.
This position is open to skilled labourers who are interested in learning and developing their skills in rebar installation. Previous rebar experience is considered an asset but is not required, as training will be provided under site supervision. Candidates must be willing to follow instructions, work efficiently, and contribute positively to the crew. You’ll need to bring your own basic hand tools and CSA-approved steel-toed boots.
PPE, including a hard hat and high-visibility vest, is also required on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn to cut, bend, tie, and place rebar according to drawings and specifications
- Learn to Secure rebar using manual or powered rebar tying tools
- Learn to Read and interpret structural and rebar placement drawings
- Learn to Operate tools and equipment such as cutters, benders, and hoists
- Maintain safe work practices and comply with all site safety protocols
- Coordinate with site supervisors and trades to meet daily targets
- Learn to assist with rigging and hoisting rebar bundles as required
- Learn to ensure proper spacing, alignment, and placement of reinforcement
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on construction experience
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg)
- Proficient in the use of basic hand tools and power tools and general site equipment
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work
Conditions:
This is a full-time role, typically Monday to Friday(40 hours/week). Job sites are located within Edmonton. Reliable transportation to and from sites is expected.
Overtime may be offered based on project needs and is paid according to provincial labour laws.
