About the role

The Elevator Mechanic serves as the primary expert when it comes to the installation and service work for RAM Elevator and Lifts’ product lines. This individual helps oversee Technicians and aid in their professional development while delivering superior customer service when interacting with customers. The Elevator Mechanic will advise customers of both needed and proactive service offerings on installed products. This role requires travel to customer sites in both local and other regions.

Leadership and collaboration are key qualities that will ensure the success of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Residential elevator and commercial lift installation, inspections and service work
  • Oversee the development of Technicians
  • Determine need for and perform major overhaul or replacement or defective equipment
  • Repair work as needed
  • Provide excellent on-site customer service when interacting with contractors and customers
  • Out of town travel within Alberta to customer sites
  • Actively promote preventative maintenance plan
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and work with management to implement
  • Qualifications

  • Clear criminal background check
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience doing elevator and lift service and maintenance
  • Alberta Elevator Constructor Journeyman certificate is required
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs multiple times a day
  • Familiarity with relevant elevator code is required (CSA B44-13, CSA B355-09, CSA , etc.)
  • Must have good mechanical skill set
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must perform at a high level of due diligence and have good attention to detail
  • Familiar with various hand and power tools
  • Leadership and ability to mentor others
  • Full Class 5 driver’s license
  • Experience towing a trailer is an asset
  • Clear driver’s abstract
  • As they will need to be insured to drive company vehicles, successful candidates must be at least 25 years old
  • Valid CSTS is required
  • Valid First Aid is required
  • Valid Fall protection training is required
  • Valid WHMIS is required
