The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a regulated member of the inter-professional health care team who utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills to provide care to individuals across the life span. The LPN provides care in alignment with Alberta Health Services mission to provide patient focused quality health services and the AHS values of respect, accountability, transparency, engagement, safety, learning, and performance.

This is a dynamic position that requires accurate multi-tasking and priority setting in order to accomplish daily goals. The LPN’s practice encompasses the application of nursing knowledge, skills and judgment to assess patient needs and provides nursing care, which is reflective of their level of education and knowledge. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works in a fast-paced Clinic within General Neurology and Cognitive Clinics.

This posting is for a LPN to work within our Neuroscience department at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
