Opportunity

Wellspring Alberta is seeking a full-time Strategic Partnerships Lead to join our Resource Development team. Reporting to the Strategic Partnerships Director, this non-supervisory role plays a critical role in advancing Wellspring Alberta’s mission by executing initiatives that cultivate and secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

This role focuses on building and maintaining high-impact relationships that generate philanthropic investment and support strategic partnerships to sustain and grow Wellspring’s programs and services.

The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, strategic, and detail-oriented, with demonstrated success in fundraising and partnership development. They are highly professional, comfortable representing the organization externally, and committed to ethical, mission-focused philanthropy.

This is a full-time position with a preferred location in Edmonton. Occasional travel within Alberta and occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships
  • Execute strategies to manage and grow a portfolio of major individual donors, corporations, and foundations ($10,000+) under the guidance of the Director.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of proposals, cases for support, and grant applications aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify new opportunities for major gifts, foundation support, and corporate partnerships.
  • Collaborate with program team and the Data Impact Manager to gather data, impact metrics, and stories that strengthen funding applications and stewardship reports.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of impact and financial reports to funders.
  • Represent Wellspring Alberta in donor and partner meetings, presentations, and community events, as directed.
  • Support organizational campaigns, including capital initiatives, annual and monthly giving, and planned giving programs.
  • Assist the communications team in preparing donor materials, stewardship content, and impact stories.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
  • Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with donors through engagement, recognition, and personalized stewardship.
  • Participate in and support donor and appreciation events that strengthen relationships and celebrate community impact.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues and volunteers on donor engagement and stewardship practices.
  • Support the Director and leadership team in strategies for donor engagement, including limited interaction with the Board as required.
Reporting, Analysis & Administration
  • Maintain accurate donor and partnership data in the CRM (Salesforce), documenting all interactions and outcomes.
  • Monitor fundraising performance and prepare regular reports for leadership and Board committees, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising practices, gift acceptance policies, and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting for fundraising revenue streams.
Qualifications
