SJS Canada is a non‑profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Stevens‑Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). Our mission is to support survivors, promote education, advocacy and research.
Role OverviewSJS Canada is seeking a Vice Chair/Secretary (Board Co‑Chair/Secretary) to join our Board of Directors. This leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about advocacy, governance, and making a meaningful impact in the healthcare and non‑profit sector.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Board Chair in leading the organization.
- Step in for the Chair when needed.
- Assist in strategic planning, decision‑making, and governance.
- Help foster partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- Record and distribute meeting minutes.
- Maintain board documents and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Assist in scheduling meetings and preparing agendas.
- Oversee official correspondence and record‑keeping.
- Other duties as required.

- Experience in non‑profit governance, leadership, or administration.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for health advocacy and community impact.
- Ability to commit 5‑10 hours per month.
- Prior experience on a Board of Directors (preferred but not required).
