We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide leadership across multiple asphalt paving projects from pre-construction through close-out. This role is responsible for driving project performance schedule, cost, quality, safety, and client satisfaction while supporting the development of project teams and aligning with the company’s Core Purpose and Core Values. The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in risk management, client relationships, margin accountability, and continuous improvement across the project management group.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage Project Managers and Project Coordinators across the full project lifecycleOversee multiple asphalt paving projects from pre-construction through close-outEnsure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety targetsProactively identify and resolve project risks, potential claims, and disputesDevelop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and change ordersMaintain strong margin accountability and financial performanceProvide contract interpretation guidance and coaching, including notices, RFIs, change events, claims, and close-out documentationServe as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, consultants, and inspectorsOversee project schedules, sequencing, and coordination with internal teams and subcontractorsEnsure compliance with company quality standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements (OHS, environmental, municipal specifications)Support business development through client retention, repeat work, and post-project reviewsProvide senior-level reporting on project performance, cash flow, production metrics, and staffing needsContribute to continuous improvement of systems, processes, and best practicesRequired Skills and Experience
Minimum 10 years of project management experience in the road construction industryP.Eng. or CET with PMP designation, or equivalent experienceProven leadership experience managing project teams and coordinating with field operationsStrong understanding of municipal and commercial asphalt paving projectsDemonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, contracts, and riskProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applicationsStrong organizational, delegation, and communication skillsAbility to build and maintain strong client, consultant, and internal relationshipsValid Class 5 driver’s licence with clean abstractWillingness to work extended hours and weekends during peak construction seasonAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior leadershipRole Expectations
