What’s the Job?
This position is a temporary 12‑month contract, full‑time role. It will occasionally require evening and weekend work. Travel is not regular, but occasional field trips will be required as projects demand. The role is Edmonton based and requires regular in‑office attendance.
Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Project Manager will lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Drawing on knowledge of frontline operations and business analytics, this role involves planning, executing and finalising projects within established deadlines and budgets. The Project Manager will also define project objectives in collaboration with project sponsors to ensure that every initiative delivers value to the organisation.
As Project Manager you will work with a wide variety of stakeholders ranging from frontline staff to executive leadership teams.
A key role of the project manager is to drive projects to ensure they stay on track and are completed on time – this requires regular communication with stakeholders and frequent updates with project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive project plans for the sponsors and the rest of the project teams.
Coordinate cooperation and input from all stakeholders such as sponsors, executives, SMEs and end users.
Organise regular communications between all stakeholders to ensure the project is successful and on time.
Lead the process of defining the project scope and objectives with the stakeholders.
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Provide regular reporting and escalations to management as needed.
Identify and manage project risks through formal risk‑management techniques.
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties / vendors when required.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Ensure projects stay on time and within their allocated budget.
Work with corporate groups to ensure business policies are maintained through project implementations.
Delegate and assign tasks to Process Analysts and other project team members.
Qualifications
Who Are We Looking For?
University degree / college diploma in business or project management.
3 to 5 years of process analysis experience, using a broad range of business requirement techniques in a variety of project contexts.
Adequate knowledge of analysis theory, practice and use of techniques.
Ability to deliver all requirement artefacts through all phases of requirements delivery on projects of all sizes and complexities, and the ability to lead requirements delivery on large programme / enterprise‑scale initiatives.
Fluent in MS Office 2016/365.
Familiarity with common application software (Microsoft Office, Adobe products).
Knowledge and experience in process writing.
French proficiency is an asset.
