About the position
DutiesThe Maintenance Crew Supervisor leads and develops a professional team of 10 or more maintenance employees responsible for the upkeep of campgrounds, day-use areas, parking lots, roads, bridges, and other visitor facilities that support high-quality experiences in Jasper National Park. This is a working supervisor position that requires hands-on participation in field work when needed.
The Supervisor plans, assigns, and oversees daily operational activities; ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Parks Canada standards; and provides coaching, mentoring, and performance oversight to crew members. The role requires close coordination with trades, technical services, and other operational teams. Strong leadership, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work year-round in outdoor environments are essential.

The Jasper Field Unit is comprised of Jasper National Park and Fort St. James National Historic Site (NHS), with staff located in Jasper, Alberta and Fort St.
James, British Columbia. The Field Unit Superintendent is located in Jasper. In addition to Fort St. James NHS, the Field Unit is also responsible for five other national historic sites located within Jasper National Park:
The Jasper Park Information Centre NHS, Athabasca Pass NHS, Yellowhead Pass NHS, Jasper House NHS and the Maligne Lake Chalet and Guest House NHS.Due to the location of Parks Canada’s heritage places, we work with a wide diversity of Indigenous peoples across the country. Of the lands and waters in our care, more than three quarters of these are managed with the support of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
