Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for the overall management, administration, development, coordination and monitoring of services provided by the Edmonton Remand Centre. You will also be responsible for the allocation of human, financial, and material resources in a manner consistent with the efficient and orderly delivery of institutional services.
You will liaise and coordinate with other correctional service partners and government ministries, internal and external stakeholders, courts, private agencies, and police agencies to ensure the efficient delivery of the operations and programming of the centre. You will establish a collaborative approach in all interactions and procedures with staff, clients, the general public, and external stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for clients and a culture of health and safety for all.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong leadership skills acquired through leading large, complex teams with a specific focus in corrections or law enforcement. You must be motivated to play an active role in the management of the largest remand facility in Canada. Effective networking skills are essential as this position is required to interact daily and maintain positive relationships with law enforcement agencies, other correctional and remand centres, the judiciary, lawyers, service providers and other ministry agents.
You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and must be able to adjust your communication to suit a variety of audiences. Interpersonal skills, decision making skills and problem-solving abilities are critical. The ability to promote staff engagement and lead staff effectively will ensure your success in this role.
