The Regional Controller is responsible for providing senior-level financial leadership across a multi-entity regional portfolio. This role oversees all accounting and financial operations within the region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with corporate financial policies and strategic objectives.
Acting as a trusted business partner, the Regional Controller supports regional leadership through financial insight, analysis, and guidance, while leading and developing a high-performing regional accounting team and ensuring strong governance, compliance, and financial discipline.

RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Leadership & Business Partnership
- Act as a strategic advisor to business unit leaders, providing actionable financial insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Vice President and Corporate Controller to ensure alignment with regional and corporate objectives.
- Review forecasts, proposals, and agreements related to land development, homebuilding, and investment initiatives.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all regional financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure financial plans align with operational business strategies.
- Monitor financial performance against budget, providing variance analysis and recommendations to leadership.
- Prepare and deliver joint venture status reports and maintain strong relationships with external partners.
Compliance, Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, reporting standards, ASPE requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations.
- Serve as Regional Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to FINTRAC legislation and reporting requirements.
- Provide financial documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Monitor compliance with loan agreements, operating lines, and cash flow requirements.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the regional accounting team, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-integrity team culture.
- Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans for team members.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting role within a multi-entity structure, preferably in real estate development or a comparable industry.
- Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and audit coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting/payroll systems (e.g., New Star, ADP).
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check.
